About me

Hello fellow traveler! I’m Upside Brown. Actually, that’s more of a description of my life but it’s also the name of my consulting business, which fits perfectly.  You see, it’s my job to provide an Upside view to organizations, businesses, and my awesome life coaching clients.  It’s not something I take lightly, but I enjoy being Upside Brown.

I’m a wife, daughter, sister and friend. I cherish my family and I love being around people who make me laugh. I am a Mississippi State sports fan, love John Denver and Christian music.  I’m not at all pretentious, but I love massages and pedicures. Sometimes I can be a little outspoken, but my heart is true – just wanting to share myself honestly and give others the opportunity to see things in a different light.

I started this blog because I wanted to encourage and empower women, couples, families, and friends who struggle or have struggled with infertility, some form of cancer, or any life altering experience that could be defined as “adversity.”   I’m an infertile woman living in a fertile world and have learned to embrace who I am rather than focusing on what I am not.   Oh.  And I wrote a book about it too.  To Walk on Fertile Ground. You should buy it. Seriously.

I’ve been married to my best friend for sixteen years, and we have two yellow Labs, Sadie and Lily.  My husband is “just a little outdoorsy” and periodically I join him in whatever adventure he plans out for us. Crazy? You bet. That’s what having cancer will do for you.

But it’s all a part of my life’s theme – “live life to the fullest.”
