My very first give-away

October 29, 2008 by upsidebrown

Ok – I admit it – I am a novice blogger. I LOVE to write and so often I find myself writing for my own pleasure, not necessarily for something that is worthy to be published forevermore in blogland. But, I’m not too old and set in my ways that I can’t amend it somewhat. So I’m committing to blogging more and more and more.  I know your jumping up and down in anticipation. Quite honestly, I am too!

So, to celebrate this monumental breakthrough, I thought I’d celebrate.  You can help celebrate too!  I’m going to be giving away 3 (count them… 1…2…3) autographed copies of my book, To Walk on Fertile Ground.  All you have to do is: a) leave me a comment as to why you’d like your own copy (or to give as a gift) and b) share this giveaway with your readership.

To Walk on Fertile Ground

To Walk on Fertile Ground

Help me bloom! And you might just be rewarded by winning in my very first blog giveaway. Let’s pull out the horns, throw some confetti, and play some music like “Celebrate good times, come on!”

I’ll close comments next Tuesday evening – so let’s get the party started.  One, two, three… GO!

Sump’m ’bout you on the blog…….

  3. on October 30, 2008 at 6:02 pm Lauren Hailey

Well, your super friend Kristen forwaded this to me and i must say she sparked my interest-I struggled with infertility and began in silence (except my breakdowns in the driveway with kristen-who always is the best to talk to you bc you don’t even have to ask for honesty-she just gives-which is what i love about her most) and then realized that God gives so that ourselves and others recieve- so simple and so complex! I now am blessed with 2 children; however God has used my experience to talk and listen to so many others- so much so that through our womens forum at my job I am a “infertility” resource–who would have thought!! I love to pray for others in this struggle bc I know that the warriors carried ME thru!! So, I look forward to your book and blessings I may receive so I may pass along to others!! God is Good!!

Our family just had the exciting news that my brother and his wife are having a baby after trying for thirteen years. I am so happy they didn’t give up! I am emailing a couple of friends and inviting them to stop on by here. Your book sounds lovely! By the way—that’s a great photo of your family!

Thank you so much for your comment yesterday – I hope that 2009 will bring an end to my fertility problems, but your book sounds like it would bring me hope and encouragement to go through this process once again. (I don’t know if the book is about fertility in terms of having babies – but I think it would apply regardless!)

I can’t wait to read more of your blog – I hope to have some time this weekend to sit down and enjoy some bloggy reading!

I would like to read this book, to get to know you more. I have not struggled with infertility, but have dealt with reproductive cancer, and since, have had a complete hysterectomy. Hello Menopause…….

  24. on November 1, 2008 at 5:32 am kristin

this book sounds wonderful! After a three year struggle with infertility, we were finally blessed with our beautiful daughter. But I am afraid to start trying again for another baby, because of the struggles. I would really like to receive a copy of it. :)

Kristi, I am here courtesy of BooMama and I don’t think this is a coincedence. I just prayed that God would give me the words to write to a friend who has just had a miscarriage and has been struggling with infertility (just as I have). I would love to win this book to send to her. Thanks!

    Hi Kristi!

Just found your blog through BooMama. What a God thing! My husband and I have walked the journey of infertility for over sixteen years now. I, too, recently started blog about my experience. Here’s my addy: http://awomanwithoutchildren.wordpress.com/

I’m always looking for resources for myself and to share with others, like me, that I meet on this journey. So, I’d love to be on the list to receive a copy.

Blessings to you, and I’m definitely going to add you to my blogroll!

    Blessings,
    Vicki S.

Found you through BooMama. As someone walking this road of infertility, I would love to read your story and hear how God has worked in your heart. Thank you for the opportunity!!

I would love a copy to read and to pass on to a few of my friends struggling with infertility!

  32. on November 3, 2008 at 11:27 pm Lesley

A very good friend of mine is struggling with infertility and I would like to give your book to her.

  33. on November 3, 2008 at 11:28 pm Dani

I would love a copy of your book. We are dealing with secondary fertility after losing our son when he was 4 months old. I have tried everything under the sun to become pregnant with only a chemical pregnancy after our 2 IVF attempt. We are praying to God to shine his blessings down upon us. Bless you for writing your innermost thoughts down a very difficult path.

  34. on November 4, 2008 at 12:12 am Ali

I have one son, and to our surprise, we “produced” him easily. But since his existence, I have become more aware of fertility and the complications surrounding a woman’s ability to become and stay pregnant. I have come to know many women who have struggled with conceiving a child, and I see what tragedy this has brought to their lives. It makes no sense to me. How was it so easy for me and so difficult and even impossible for others? It’s not fair. And because I don’t understand what they are going through, all I can do is be their friend (and pray). Your book would be a resource for me to share with those dear friends of mine who are struggling and lost and devastated. Thank you for your honesty and willingness to share your very personal and intimate story.

  35. on November 4, 2008 at 12:20 am Cindy

I have a friend who is struggling with infertility and would love to pass this book her way.

    Thanks!

  36. on November 4, 2008 at 12:34 am Christy

My husband and I have been married for three years and still have not been able to conceive. We believe God, and are beginning to explore other options (embryo adoption), and I know God is working things out in me in this time. But, some days are harder than others…
    Thank you and God bless.

  37. on November 4, 2008 at 1:08 am Mandi

We have struggled with infertility for the past 3 years and were told by an infertility specialist that we would never be able to have children on our own. God has used our infertility to reveal Himself to us in such real ways and now we are foster parents to a sweet baby boy!

It is our hope and prayer that we will be able to adopt him soon and provide a loving home for other children in the future. I love how God can take a seemingly hopeless situation and turn it into something amazing that brings glory to Himself!

I would LOVE to receive this new book of yours!

  38. on November 4, 2008 at 2:32 am Carin

I’d love a copy to read about your journey. Thanks for the opportunity. :)

  39. on November 4, 2008 at 3:29 am Shannon

I have three women in my small group struggling with infertility right now and I think this book would be a great resource for me to pass on…

  40. on November 4, 2008 at 3:41 am Maria

Came to your blog by way of BooMama. Would love to have a copy of your book to send to a dear friend who’s also struggled with infertility. I can give hugs and I can cry with her, but someone who’s walked her path can speak straight to the heart.

  41. on November 4, 2008 at 5:40 am Greta

I would love to read your book! It sounds like you have a great outlook and I’d like to hear more.

  42. on November 4, 2008 at 1:14 pm Tara

I have two couples in mind as I hope for this book. One is a couple waiting for a birthmom to pick their profile. One is a couple who has given up on children and are throwing themselves into their work and ministry to our MIDDLE SCHOOL program. Yup. Since they can’t have their own bitty bitties they’re loving on the kidlets who nobody else wants to minister to (because middle schoolers are scary don’tyouknow?) Thanks for a chance to win your story to share with these wonderful people!

  43. on November 4, 2008 at 4:44 pm Bethany

I have a dear friend who is suffereing with infertility and I’d love to win a copy of your book to give to her.
